Saroyan Raises Endowment Goal to $1 Million
“I am so proud of our Brothers: for their talents, their generosity, and their dedication.”
PLEI chairman Ralph Saroyan announced a change in the Institute’s endowment goal, to $1 million, during the Fraternity’s 68th Grand Council in Buffalo. “Our people deeply believe in our mission,” he said. “We need to set aside this much principal, so we can really provide the Fraternity the support the Brothers need in the form of bigger and more scholarships and leadership grants.”
Roots
Started in August 2005 with a $10,000 gift from Ralph Saroyan (Alpha Psi), our 25th Grand President and first chairman of the Pharmacy Leadership & Education Institute (PLEI), the Fund endows our leader-development efforts in perpetuity. The Fund is managed by PLEI, the IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) foundation Phi Delta Chi started in 1996 to support the Fraternity’s leadership goals.

Each of the benefactors shows how deep runs the Brothers’ love for the Fraternity. Our donors know how vitally important it is to help the next generation of Brothers become leaders themselves. PLEI will use the endowment to offer travel grants to Brothers attending Leader-Development Seminars, Officer-Training Courses at Grand Councils, and similar events and projects.
“Our goal is an ambitious $500,000,” said Mary Euler (Beta Epsilon), PLEI board member. “But I have every confidence in the world that we’ll make that challenge. Just look at the graph of progress.”
