Leadership Programs

35 Years of Experience and Innovation

When PLEI began delivering leader development 35-years ago, programs were interactive, multi-day, in-person affairs. In 2020 we began delivering our human touch by leveraging an online Learning Management System. This lets us deliver face-to-face training (from a distance), continuing our signature interactive experience. In fact, one of our recent participants commented that the interaction in PLEI’s virtual program was better than most programs she attended in person!

As the world emerged from the pandemic, we’ve continued to provide online training, and our delivery modalities now include online, in-person, and hybrid programs ranging from 1-hour workshops to longitudinal courses that are delivered over several months.

What type of person benefits most from a PLEI Program?

Although PLEI’s roots are in pharmacy, our programming emphasizes the universal, human elements of leadership. We believe leadership fundamentally about guiding change – leading oneself and others toward a better future. This makes our programs valuable for anyone, from new to experienced leaders, at any stage in their career.

People who tend to benefit most from our programs are those who:

  • Aren’t satisfied with the status quo and want more out of their job, team, organization, career, or life.
  • Are open to new ways of thinking and doing, and
  • Are willing to put in the work to generate, select, and pursue new paths to better futures.

PLEI offers value-added leader development programs tailored for pharmacy residency programs, corporate partners, state and national associations, and beyond, empowering participants to lead with excellence and drive meaningful change.

The Star Framework Curriculum

The Star Framework is our flagship program. We enroll new cohorts into the online version of this course three times a year. We also partner with organizations to deliver this “shovel ready” program to their constituents in a variety of formats (in-person, online, or hybrid). Most of our partners prefer to kick-off the program with a 4-hour in-person workshop, and then have participants complete the balance of the curriculum via online self-study and a series of group coaching sessions spread out over 3-4 months.

The Star Framework covers five “ways of being and doing” that deliver the best results when consistently practiced by most leaders and teams.

  • Vision – What are your natural tendencies that create blind spots, which limit your potential and keep you stuck?
  • “Response-ability” – How do you unconsciously give away your power to influence the people and circumstances around you, and what can you do to reclaim your ability to respond?
  • Integrity – What are the most common causes of team breakdowns and what can you do to address or even prevent them?
  • Grit – What will keep you on the path to your better future despite inevitable challenges and setbacks?
  • Results Through Others – How can you empower a team using a “whole person approach” to, as Colin Powell once said, “get results beyond which the science of management says is possible”?

Academy for Leader Development

PLEI’s programming is delivered through its Academy for Leader Development (ALD). This includes The Star Framework, as well as other programs on a wide variety of leadership-related topics. If you have a specific need, please reach out to see how PLEI can help. We’d love for you to join our growing list of partners.
